Update to the Tipping Policy
Hello, Friends!
I hope you have enjoyed the Galveston Artillery Club this Spring. It is a busy time, as you have all witnessed. I want to bring to your attention an item that the Board of Directors voted on that alters House Rules regarding tipping of staff members. This change allows you to have an opportunity to tip your team of servers and staff as an additional thank you to them for their service and hospitality. Tips will be allocated in a tipping pool to be shared at the end of the evening so that our culinary and support staff receive a proper share as well.
Rules will not change for large groups or parties. This change not only assists with extra pay for the staff but allows for a benefit to hopefully help retain and recruit staff in this highly competitive service industry market on the island.
The Club is busy moving forward and improving. Our food continues to be spectacular because of our chef, Michael Petteway. The staff, the memorable events and so many friends and family moments are led by our tremendous General Manager, Steven Everhart. Finally, our club looks beautiful. Ron Messner's efforts and successes in the remodel, capital campaign and his committee leadership have been remarkable. Ron deserves a great deal of thanks and a generous pat on the back.
On behalf of the Board of Directors, many thanks for your patronage and patience during this busy time at the club. We look forward to a bright future for our historic Galveston Artillery Club.
Look forward to seeing you soon!
Bob Senter
President
